August Favourites! 2015
Hello my lovelies and Hello September! I hope you've had an amazing bank holiday weekend and an awesome summer this year. Unfortunately, I think for us Brits the summer is well and truly over, hence it is raining today.
Although the summer is about over, I wanted to share with you some of the things I have been loving throughout August and through the summer. I have skincare, bath and body, fashion, make up and some random things to share with you that I've been loving. I hope you all have a fabulous evening/morning wherever you are, and if it's still warm and sunny where you are then make the most of it!
Enjoy :)
Body/Skincare
Throughout the month of August I've really been enjoying using the L'Oreal Paris Triple Active Night Hydrating Night Moisturiser. This stuff is quite thick when you first put it on and it can feel kind of heavy on the skin, but once it's sunk in it feels absolutely fine and more than comfortable enough to sleep with it on. The reason I love this product so much is because in the morning your skin feels lovely and soft and hydrated, as the moisturiser would suggest. It isn't expensive at all, its around the £7/£8 mark which is fantastic for the way it leaves your skin feeling so lovely and hydrated. I would definitely recommend this one if you're looking for a moisturiser that is affordable and does the job.
I've been loving using Baby oil particularly the past month or so, it has so many uses and it super inexpensive. Baby oil is a great moisturiser for your elbows, feet and just generally a good all rounder. Watch this space for a post coming up soon on Uses for Baby Oil.
AVON Care Cocoa Butter Hand Cream. This stuff is lovely and an absolute joy to use, it isn't greasy, it's moisturising, it sinks into your skin rather quickly and it smells gorgeous, hence it is cocoa butter :) But seriously, I definitely recommend this if you have dry hands, or are in need of an affordable hand cream that works wonders!
The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm. I am honestly really enjoying this stuff, it leaves my lips feeling plump, soft and prepared for lipstick and the day ahead. This is a sample size I received with August edition of Elle Magazine, but I really would recommend it.
I've been loving both of these products from The Body Shop Mango scented range. The exfoliator is gentle on your skin, yet still gets rid of all those dead skin cells along with making you smell fresh and sweet. The shower gel also leaves you smelling lovely and like a walking, talking mango. It lathers up lovely under running water and a little goes a long way!
Definitely give these two a try if you're a fan of The Body Shop products, or are in need of a new exfoliator or shower gel that smells like mango ;)
Make up
MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC15. I initially brought this foundation for Prom because I wanted a high end one that would be long lasting because the night consisted of dancing, singing and sweating, so it is a good job I wore this foundation. As I said, this is relatively long lasting after being powdered, and it kept the shine and oil at bay for majority of the night. Obviously it isn't a miracle worker so the oiliness did break through near the end of the night, after hours of dancing in a hot room. I would recommend this if you are after a good high end/ mattifying foundation.
Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. The colours in this palette are all matte, apart from Venus which is a shimmery light white colour, perfect for highlighting around the eye area. The shades are mostly matte which makes this a perfect everyday eye shadow palette. I love this, and have used it a lot.
Rimmel Brow This Way in Dark Brown. I use this to set my brows in place and to add a bit more depth and texture to my brows. Affordable and practical.
Soap and Glory Brow Archery Brow Tint and Precision Shaping Pencil in Brownie Points. I brought this a while ago when it was hyped and raved about, but I use this all of the time on my brows. Nearly everyday. One end is a felt tip pen, with a really thin nib, perfect for imitating brow hairs and making your brows look more realistic. On the other end is rounded off pencil, to fill them in and give them more definition. Highly, highly recommend!
MAC Matte Lipstick in Russian Red. This is the perfect red which would suit any skin tone! I've been wearing this lipstick for every party I've had this summer, and I've had a lot. A lot meaning at least 10... This lipstick is long wearing, doesn't smudge, it isn't drying at all and it is my favourite MAC lipstick.
These two lipsticks have been my absolute go to this month!
Perfume
Jo Malone in Peony and Blush Suede. This perfume is light, floral yet not too sweet and has been my everyday scent this summer. If you want to get a new perfume, or want to try something from Jo Malone, definitely give this one a smell and I almost guarantee you'll love it.
Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum. This perfume is very strong, and has quite a rich smell to it. It has vanilla and sweet notes to it, but yet it is super over powering which I love in this perfume. It smells gorgeous, and I've been wearing it a lot for parties.
Fashion
These Black sunglasses from Primark are all I've been wearing when the sun has actually been out in England. These were only £2 and look fashionable, are a staple accessory and adds a lovely touch to any casual outfit.
These gorgeous, Laser Cut Ankle Cuff Healed Black Sandals from MissGuided are relatively comfortable and just look absolutely stunning. I've been wearing these a lot.
Random
The last few things I've been loving are Annie the Movie (2014), I love the modern take of this movie and I love the modernised songs too. Definitely recommend to watch!
The Vampire Diaries & The Originals!!! After only discovering TVD and The Originals this year, I have managed to watch all of the two TV shows, and watch them twice over. I am what you call 'hooked'. If you love the supernatural, definitely check these two shows out!
Justin Bieber's new song What Do You Mean has been on non stop since he has released it! I'm so glad Bieber is back, he is my main man. Go check out his new single on VEVO! :)
I've also been listening to Philip George - Alone no more & also Martin Solveig's single called Intoxicated. Fabulous summer songs, I've been listening to these on repeat, including Justin's new song!
Comment below and let me know what you've been loving throughout August and also let me know your thoughts on me doing monthly favourites! I appreciate any feedback!
Be sure to check out my new book over on Wattpad. I'm writing Justin Bieber Imagines at the minute. I hope you give it a look :)
